About

Since when did we have to start paying to apply for jobs?

I think it's wild that roles are hidden behind paywalls. It makes an extremely unfair playing field, in an industry that already has enough biases and prejudices.

partition by will always be free to use, with no login. No surprise paywalls and no data harvesting. You can track your applications with the mini-ATS buttons on each job (Interested, Applied, Interviewed…), which save to the browser on your own device. If there's ever enough traffic there might be some display ads, though I suspect the content is too thin for Google to even allow it.

The site takes job feeds straight from employers' own job boards, so there should be no recruitment agencies. The odd one might slip through the cracks: drop me a message and I'll unplug it.

There are no promoted or paid-for job slots skewing what you see. It's literally a feed of APIs that refreshes every weekday and links out to the jobs it's found. You keep your CV to yourself (I don't need to see it) and apply directly on the company's own website.

Every job is a data role, and every one is remote or hybrid and UK-friendly, as best I can tell. I lean towards smaller companies: they cost less to poll, and they often get drowned out on the big job boards by bigger budgets.

I'll keep adding companies as I find them. If you know one that should be here, drop me a message and I'll see what I can do.

This is a personal project, built mostly with AI agents and Git. I'll be trying things out as I go, and suggestions are always welcome. Feel free to send over any requests for other industries or filters too.

Where the jobs come from

Straight from employers' own job boards, the public listings that companies publish on systems like Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and Workable. The site checks around 3,300 of them every weekday.

Every role links straight back to the employer's own posting, and that is where you apply. The site never republishes a job description: a card shows the title, the company, where it can be done, dates, and a few tags, and nothing more.

It only reads what is public, once each weekday, and never gets round a site that blocks automated visitors: if one does, it's left alone.

Taking a company's jobs down

If you'd like your company's jobs removed from partition by, email me and I'll take them down promptly. No questions, no argument.

The same address works for corrections, a role I've filed wrongly, a company I should add, or anything else.

How roles are sorted

Deciding which roles are data roles, which are remote or hybrid, and which are open to the UK is done automatically, from each posting's title, location and text. It is usually right and sometimes wrong: a hybrid role can slip through as remote, or an office-based one as hybrid. The employer's own posting is always the final word, so check it before you apply.
